On Friday, 9 of our Year 5 and 6 children attended a Winter Olympics style event where the children competed 4 rounds of Toboggan, 4 rounds of Kurling and 4 rounds of Ice Hockey throughout the morning. The children thoroughly enjoyed their morning and showed great improvement as the morning progressed and both teams won a number of their rounds. Our Year 6's finished in 9th and our Year 5's finished in 4th. Well done to: Amelia K, Ava, Sacha, Casey and Andrew from Year 5 and Delia, Mylo, Amber and Harley from Year 6.
Welcome to Boothville Primary Sports Blog
We believe that it is important for children to take part in a range of both competitive and non-competitive sports and for everyone to be able to achieve their own personal goals. Through competition and challenge we want pupils to be able to celebrate the occasions when they are successful, whilst realising that teamwork and fair play has a key role to play in not only the sporting world but also their own lives.
Children are encouraged to take part in extracurricular sessions, Sports Leader lead games, kids marathon, school house competitions or sports clubs. Before and after school sports clubs run every day and are led by sports coaches, where we encourage and support children to become involved. As well as these opportunities, Boothville take part in competitions and Festivals against other schools in the local area. This allows the children the opportunity to put skills learnt during lessons or at our after-school clubs into practise and also gives them the opportunity to make links with outside clubs in the local area.
We work closely with Northamptnshire Sport , Northampton Saints, M.A.B Academy Gymnastics and Pacesetters to allow our children to develop skills in individual sports and pathways to clubs outside of school.

On Wednesday we took part in the NSport Basketball competition at Moulton College. Our children played really well. The team captains, Elise and Darius, taking more responsibility organising the team on the pitch. Wow, and what a job they did with the team. Winning all their group games to reach the finals. The final was very tight in the first half, with Stimpson Avenue leading 4-2, but in the second period we were outstanding, nearly every shot went in, Boothville finally winning 25-4. Well done to Darius, David, Joshua W, Alex, Harry S, Elyse, Daria, Remi, Emily and Miriam. We will now represent Northampton at the County finals in March.
